We have a new Film Commissioner

I couldn’t be more excited about Lauren Sloan’s appointment. With Lauren and Arielle at the helm, Colorado’s film industry is poised for an incredible new chapter.

I was a candidate for this role and gave it my all. My vision and goals for leadership within Colorado’s creative sector haven’t changed. I’m eager to continue playing a part in shaping the future of our industry. Let’s celebrate Lauren Sloan’s appointment.

As Colorado’s Film Commissioner, my guiding principle is to be a bridge builder. I draw on a deep background in STEM, blending that mindset with Governor Polis’s vision for leadership in energy, renewables, and technology.

My goal is to position Colorado’s film industry as a highly innovative and tech-forward sector—not just a creative space, but a pipeline for jobs and ideas that touch everything from renewable energy to advanced storytelling. I see filmmaking not as an isolated craft, but as a dynamic engine for economic growth and technological progress.

I don’t believe in zero-sum games or political posturing. In my experience, lasting gains come from collaboration and shared purpose, not division. My job is to connect commission stakeholders, filmmakers, policymakers, and communities—to align our efforts around common goals.

If we work together, with respect for every mission and perspective, I know we can build a thriving, inclusive, and future-looking film industry for Colorado—one that advances both our creative ambitions and our leadership in STEM.

Let’s make Colorado a model for what’s possible when creativity and technology move forward, side by side.
